February 12: Raj Brewery, a subsidiary of Jawalakhel Group of Industries, has announced the launch of its premium strong beer – Mountain Ice – to cater to the demand of the consumers for a strong brew.

The company said in a statement that the international-standard beer is brewed in Nepal with imported ‘malts and select hops’.

According to the company, Mountain Ice promises a strong, smooth and refreshing drinking experience with 6.5% alcohol content at a price of Rs 230 for 650 ml bottle.

“Mountain Ice answers the consumers’ demand for scaling up to a world-class strong beer that comes with a premium brand and premium packaging,” said Raj Bahadur Shah, managing director of Jawalakhel Group of Industries

“The market for strong beer is consistently growing, and this trend is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. However, there lacked a good quality beer in this segment, where we stepped in with a world class brew,” said Sashin Joshi, group executive director of JGI. 

The product will debut this month in the capital and tier-A cities and will shortly be available throughout Nepal, the statement added.
