Hester Biosciences Nepal sets up Production Plant at Nala Ugrachandi

February 14: Hester Biosciences Nepal Private Limited, a joint venture company of Golchha Organization and Hester Biosciences Limited India, has launched a new plant at Nala Ugrachandi in Kavre District to manufacture animal vaccines.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the plant amid a function on Wednesday, February 13.

Addressing the inauguration program, PM Oli said, “Nepal is a country where most of the people’s source of income is livestock farming. The operation of Hester Biosciences in Nala will facilitate farmers in livestock production. This will contribute to the growth of economy, increase in household income and urbanization. With this plant in Nepal, there will be ample number of job creation and revenue generation as well.”

Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada praised this kind of venture which is export oriented.

“We need to prioritize such type of industries. The multi dimension of Hester Biosciences to serve Nepal’s market as well as the international market is praiseworthy,” he said.

According to Rajiv Gandhi, CEO and Managing Director of Hester Biosciences Nepal, emerging animal diseases have been a threat which needs to be addressed.

He expressed the belief that the company’s advanced technology and affordable price will help to reduce the problems faced by the farmers in livestock production.

Likewise, Shekhar Golchha, executive director of Golchha Organization said that the government should give high priority for the promotion of animal health care company in Nepal since the demand of livestock production has been increasing.

Hester claimed that it has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for products ranging from poultry vaccines to large animal vaccines. The facility has been built as per GMP standards and norms, with an annual capacity to manufacture 1.24 billion doses of live and inactivated vaccines.

Currently, the company said it has got 20 licensed vaccines and 27 vaccines are under licensing.
