India Builds Maternity Hospital in Siraha District

April 12: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri inaugurated the Chandra Narayan Yadav Memorial Maternity Hospital in Siraha district built with Indian grant assistance.
 
The India Embassy said in a statement that the hospital has been built to provide access to maternity and health care services to the people of 50 VDCs in and around Siraha district.
 
According to the statement, the hospital is being run by the Chandra Narayan Yadav Memorial Trust under the principle of no profit.
 
The new infrastructure constructed with the grant of Rs 26.90 million from the Government of India has a 25-bed maternity building along with medical equipment like ultrasound, X-ray. The hospital also has blood bank facility, emergency ward, ICU, CCU, major OT, minor OT, three doctors’ room, one nurses’ room, store, administration, accounts and toilets.
 
The embassy expressed hope that the newly built infrastructure will provide an improved maternal and child care health service to the people of Siraha and surrounding districts and help to reduce the maternal and child mortality rate.
