Pokhara International Airport Gets Concrete Runway

April 18: Construction of the runway of Pokhara International Airport has been complete. The runway, which is considered the main part of the airport, was completed within one and a half years since the national pride project kicked off.

With the completion of the runway, almost 35 percent of the total project has been completed, according to the project officials.

Acting chief of the project Krishna Prasad Poudel confirmed that the runway has been completed.

The runway which is 2500 meters long is different from other runways and has set a new precedent. Although other runways are blacktopped, this runway is made of concrete materials for the first time in Nepal’s history.

Poudel said that they are planning to complete the airport six months ahead of the schedule as per the request of the government.
