PM Oli Inaugurated Soaltee Westend Premier

April 16: Prime Minister KP Oli inaugurated the Soaltee Westend Premier in Nepalgunj amid a recent function.

Chief Minister of Province 5 Shankar Pokharel and Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barsaman Pun were present in the inauguration ceremony, according to a statement issued by the hotel on April 16.

The hotel is considered as Nepal’s first green hotel for adopting environment-friendly technology.

It gained the five-star status in February, almost a year after coming into operation.

The Department of Tourism certified the hotel as a five-star hotel for its contribution in waste management and energy efficiency for its low power consumption.

The hotel’s Managing Director Indra Khadka informed New Business Age that the department gave them the certificate of a five-star hotel after examining the infrastructure.

Earlier, Soaltee Westend Premier was recognized as the “Best Debut Green Hotel” at the 14th Hospitality India and Explore the World Annual International Travel Awards held at Ashok Hotel in New Delhi on October 5.

The statement said that Soaltee Westend Premier Nepalgunj is the first leadership in energy and environmental designed (LEED) silver category hotel in Nepal, certified by the US Green Building Council.

Soaltee Westend Premeir is a branch of Kathmandu-based Soaltee Crowne Plaza.
