Qatar Airways Provides Food Items to Needy Families in Kathmandu

May 12: Qatar Airways has provided food items to needy families in Kathmandu on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. The airline said in a statement that it collaborated with Qatar Charity to provide the food items on Saturday May 11 to mark the major festival of Muslims around the world.

Each of the recipient family received 25 kg of rice, 3 kg of sugar, 5 kg of wheat flour, 3 kg of chickpeas, 1 kg of salt, 1 kg of sunflower seeds and 5 litres of sunflower oil, according to the statement.

The company further said that the food items were collected through donations.

“We are tremendously pleased to be able to provide these much-needed items to the families here in Kathmandu. This initiative, conducted in partnership with Qatar Charity, is just one of the ways in which we demonstrate our commitment to the people of Nepal,” said Mohamed El Emam, country head of Qatar Airways for Nepal, adding, “The holy month of Ramadan reminds us of the importance of giving to others, and we are delighted to have been able to make a difference here in the local community of Kathmandu.”
