SEBON Directs NEPSE to Formulate Contemporary Regulations

April 20: Security Board of Nepal (SEBON) has directed Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) to formulate contemporary regulations within current FY, releasing a press release on Monday.

SEBON clarifies “Since the implementation of the present Securities Listing By-Laws 2053, capital market has changed drastically. The same old by-laws might not be able to appraise the real status of the listed companies, thus for the development of listed companies, contemporary regulations should be formulated.” SEBON explains that the new regulation is need of the hour as in the last 20 years capital market has come so far. During the period, Securities Act 2063 has been implemented, capital of listed companies has increased by many times and securities trading have been automated, thus the old regulation seems outdated in today’s period.
