Subisu CAN CommTech Kicks off

September 9: CAN CommTech 2016 (Information, communication and technology) exhibition, organized by Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) kicked off in the exhibition hall of Bhrikutimandap. The event scheduled from September 8 to September 11 was inaugurated by Surendra Kumar Karki, Ministry of Information and Communication. Karki stressed on the need of producing ICT content in domestic language so that more Nepalis can benefit from world of internet.


 According to the organiser, the exhibition will be participated by internet service providers, telecommunications and electrical security and solution, hardware sales and repair, power solution and mobile accessories. Similarly, the exhibition will also have dealer and distributors’ stalls, ICT college and training institutes and payment solutions. The event is being participated by national and international companies as well. 


Altogether, 70 firms are showcasing their products and services through 81 stalls in the event. The event can be visited in between 10.00 am to 5.00 pm till Sunday. 


“The exhibition will focus on broadband internet and communication technology,” said the organiser. The event will provide information regarding digital TV transmission mechanism in major cities of the country. Globally popular Android Smartphones will also be showcased in the event.


The entrance charge for a general public has been fixed Rs 50 per person and for a student Rs 25. Similarly, the students of colleges and schools will get special discount if they carry related documents with them. The organizers expect over 150,000 visitors during the event.
