CG Launches 'Soundz of Music' to Promote Nepali Music

October 6: Chaudhary Group (CG) has launched 'Nepal Ice Soundz of Music' program to promote, conserve and develop music in Nepal. Issuing a press statement, the company informed that the program was jointly inaugurated by Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of CG and James Pradhan, Nepali musician and singer at a ceremony held at Patan Museum Café in Lalitpur on October 4.

"The objective of Soundz of Music is to promote and conserve Nepali music. It recognizes both established and upcoming musical talents and gives them a common platform," said Nirvana Chaudhary. "We aim to create a magical musical collaboration by bringing together musicians and singers from different genres such as folk and pop."

The sponsor of the Soundz of Nepal is Nepal Ice, CG's premium brand.

According to the statement, The Soundz of Nepal program will have two seasons in the initial phase. The first season will comprise of 12 episodes of live performance and recording, each of 15 minutes duration. Top musicians and singers from Nepal will perform in the program. The highlight of the program will be a unique fusion of folk and pop music. The recorded performances will be broadcast through Youtube, online media, TV, and radio for wider reach.

"There will be five types of performances in the Soundz of Nepal including new interpretations, re-creations, collaborations, fusion and mashups. The live performance and recording will start in November 2016. Interested musicians and singers may contact Chaudhary Group with their performance plan," reads the statement.

Popular Nepali singers and musicians including Sanjay Shrestha, Deepak Bajracharya, Nabin K. Bhattarai, Prabesh Man Shakya, Kutumba band, Shadows band and Yamabuddha were present at the inaugural function, the statement further adds
