Ncell Starts 4G Service

June 2: The private sector telecommunication service providing company Ncell has started 4G service based on LTE technology from June 1. The company started high speed mobile broadband 4G service from Kathmandu.

Ncell customers from Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Banepa and Dhulikhel can use the service. The customers having 4G operating SIM and mobile can enjoy the service. The company started the service by receiving license of technology neutrality.

Similarly, the customers can exchange their SIM cards with 4G operating SIM (U-SIM) for free. Meanwhile, new customers will get 4G activated SIM cards.

Simon Parkins, Managing Director of Ncell expressed his excitement  from the positive impact of reaching to people and country through technology neutrality.

“This step has made us move in the journey of building digital Nepal,” he said, adding, “We are committed to contributing to get the digital mission of Nepal by correctly utilizing technology neutrality.”

The company that got technology neutrality license from Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) a month ago is targeting to reach 4G service in 15 percent of the total population in the upcoming seven months.

Likewise, the company is testing the network with an aim to operate 4G service in 40 cities of the country. On the occasion of 4G operation, the company is offering one GB data for free for three days.
