FNCCI Urges Japanese to Invest in Nepal

July 30: President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Bhavani Rana, has urged Japanese investors to invest in Nepal. Rana made such appeal during a meeting with a Japanese delegation in Kathmandu in the presence of Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa. A delegation, which also includes Japanese entrepreneurs, led by two Japanese lawmakers Hinaki Takahasi and Yuko Nakagawa was in Nepal in the last week of July to study the feasibility of technology transfer.

Rana told the delegation that the political situation in Nepal has been improving and urged them to invest in sectors like agriculture, tourism, energy and infrastructure which holds good potential.

Meanwhile, a team of FNCCI met separately with Inspector General of Police Prakash Aryal and apprised him of the problems faced by Nepali entrepreneurs. During the meeting, Rana drew the attention of the police chief about businesspersons being abducted, killed, robbed and attacked in their offices and requested to ensure proper security for them.
