October 11: Eight additional post offices of Parbat district have been developed as tele-centers. The acting chief of District Postal Office Gopal Sharma informed that they decided to convert the postal offices into cyber centers after the new generation started using modern services instead of the traditional postal service for communication.

The tele-centers have been providing modern services like email, fax as well as teaching people how to use computers in addition to the traditional postal service, informed Sharma. The tele-centers have been set up at Khurkot, Karkineta, Thulipokhari, Lukhu, Huwas, Urampokhara, Setibeni and Khorpokhara of the district.

The District Postal Office informed that it has been providing services at a subsidised rate to the locals. Sharma informed that there are plans to convert other postal offices into tele-centers as well.

The district has one District Postal Office, 11 Area Postal Offices and 43 Additional Postal Offices.

Sharma said that the locals have not yet stopped using postal service though.
