October 13: Despite being one of the busiest customs points of the country, cross-border trading for the traders through Birgunj has been very difficult as the loaded trucks enters the country in a very unsystematic way and the roads of the region is full of potholes.

Industrialists and traders say that trading with southern neighbor India is increasing every year, but the infrastructures have never been improved in the border area.

The commodities while being imported from third countries via Kolkata port get stuck soon after getting into the port.

The traders have faced uncountable hurdles to deliver the commodities on time. According to Anil Kumar Agrawal, vice president of Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the government should focus on constructing infrastructures at the earliest, to help the traders. Traders say that they have started to face problem from the start of this fiscal year.
