NBI launches CANBI course in Nepal

October 15: National Banking Institute (NBI) has launched an advanced level certification course, the Chartered Associate of National Banking Institute (CANBI).

The institute had earlier launched the Junior Associate of National Banking Institute (JANBI), a professional banking certification on October 9, 2015 which became a popular program.

The program was inaugurated by Chintamani Siwakoti, deputy governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Friday, October 13. The course has been developed in collaboration with Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF), according to NBI.

Bankers holding the post of manager or above and having banking experience of at least 10 years are eligible for the course. The course will have the validity period of two years. JANBI accepted registration of bankers irrespective of their posts.  

The examination will be conducted twice a year ie in the months of June and December and to pass the subject one has to score at least 50 marks in each subject. Score between 60 to 69 percent will be awarded first division and the score above 70 percent will recognized as distinction.
