Ncell organises ‘Digital Jam Day’

November 23: Ncell organised a ‘Digital Jam Day’ on Thursday, involving all its employees to explore and scale up their digital talents with an aim to be more agile and more relevant in serving the customers and enhancing customer experience.

Issuing a press statement, Ncell said the event was a day-long online and offline learning programme targeted at developing a digital mindset, experimenting with new ways of working and running projects focusing on agility, data and the needs of customers.

“All Ncell employees participated in a range of activities, experimented with and made solutions with digital tools, including development of chatbots and mobile apps,” reads the statement.

Ncell Digital Jam was organised as a part of Axiata Group’s initiative to fast-track its digital talent transformation, which culminated into Asia’s largest employee online activation event across six markets - Ncell (Nepal), Robi (Bangladesh), Dialog (Sri Lanka), Celcom (Malaysia), Smart (Cambodia) and XL (Indonesia) - in ASEAN and South Asia, the statement further said. The event galvanised 12,000 employees of the six operations of Axiata.

“The world of connectivity and communications is fast changing, and the telecommunications industry has no recourse but to learn new ways of how we engage with customers, build solutions, create services, think differently and improve the lives of our customers,” said Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim, President and Group CEO of Axiata.

“Our employees across every business in each country whether in Malaysia or in Nepal, are core and fundamental to our success. Today, as digitalisation gains rapid momentum, talent becomes even more critical in determining our ability to compete and grow in our markets.”

To holistically drive digital talent building exercise, Axiata has announced its commitment to invest USD 6 million over the next three years to scale up the existing digital expertise and provide critical digital development and capacity building for all its employees across all levels and roles, the statement said.
