Nepal Buildcon and Nepal Wood Expo Kicks Off

February 9: The fourth edition of Nepal Buildcon and Nepal Wood International Expo kicked off at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu on Friday, February 9. The three-day event organised by Media Space Solutions in collaboration with Futurex Trade Fair and Events will conclude on February 11.

The organisers said in a statement that this edition is focused on showcasing advanced construction technologies, inspiring innovative products and services for maximum exposure of the construction sector in Nepal.

The highlight of the exhibition are heavy construction equipment, wood and woodwork machineries, pre-fab structures, UPVC windows machinery, UPVC profile, doors and windows, architectural hardware, bathroom fittings, pipes, laminates, veneers , plywood , tiles and sanitary ware , roofing , pre engineering building, power tools, windows, concrete block machinery manufacturers, earth moving equipment, material handling equipment, timber, WPC, Aluminium composite panels and many more, reads the statement.

The organisers said that these technologies that are new to Nepalese consumers have been tried, tested and proven internationally.

This is the 4th edition of the exhibition. The previous editions of the exhibition witnessed overwhelming participation of architects, builders, engineers, planners, developers, contractors and business people from the construction, infrastructure and wood industry, the statement further said.

According to the organisers, the theme of this expo is “Build Nepal – Invest in Development” to promote shared responsibilities, and to reiterate role and responsibility of industries in national development.

The focus is on five key enablers: facilitating growth, competitiveness, promoting infrastructure investments, developing human capital and encouraging social development, the organisers said.

Mahindra and Nippon Paint are the official co-sponsors of this event where more than 220+ domestic and international companies and brands are participating in this twin international trade show. According to the organisers,  over 10 new products along and their technologies will be introduced at the show.   

The exhibition is supported by Nepal Engineering Association (NEA), Society of Consulting Architectural and Engineering Firms (SCAEF), Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA), Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal (FCAN), Federation of Furniture and Finishing Entrepreneurs Association (FFFEA), Nepal Land and Housing Developers Association(NLHDA), Nepal Plywood Manufacturers Association (NPMA), Regional and Urban Planners Society of Nepal (RUPSON), Federation of Heavy Equipment Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (FHEAN) and Confederation of Indian Industry(CII).
