March 12: Kishore Kumar Pradhan has been elected to the post of vice president (district and municipal chapter) of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). Pradhan was elected to the vacant post after garnering 65 votes to defeat his nearest rival Nirak KC, who secured only 33 votes.

Newly elected Vice President Pradhan was administered oath of office and secrecy by the president of FNCCI, Bhawani Rana. Eleven months ago, Pradhan was defeated by Shekhar Golchha for the post of senior vice president.

He was appointed to the post after former vice president Pramod Shrestha opted to compete in the local election.

According to the provisions of FNCCI, its office bearer’s post will be automatically vacant in case he/she gets engaged with any political party. FNCCI held the election for the post as per the directive of the Supreme Court.
