Shyantu Shrestha Nominated for People's Choice Award

May 13: Table tennis player Shyantu Shrestha has been nominated for Pulsar Sports Award. Shrestha  who gained popularity at a young age of 18, has been nominated for the People's Choice Award.

Shyantu had won the titles of three out of four national level tournaments last year. He won gold in men's singles, doubles and team competition in the 39th National Table Tennis Championship.

According to the organiser, Nepal Sports Journalist Forum, the winner will be selected on the basis of 50 percent votes from SMS, 25 percent votes from the organisers, and 25 percent votes from different individuals of the sports sector. Before this, the organiser had been choosing the winner based on SMS voting alone.

The winner under this category will win a Pulsar motorcycle.
