May 14: Nepalflix and SongsNepal, two leading digital entertainment providers of Nepal, have agreed to a partnership for YouTube services. Together, the two companies aim to create a broad platform for premium Nepali audio and video contents and to enable content creators to bring their work to the limelight, Nepalflix said in a statement.

According to the statement, SongsNepal is considered to be one of the leading music distributors in Nepal, with a large exclusive collection of music videos and a loyal subscriber base of over 750,000. On a daily basis aspiring musicians approach SongsNepal to release their music on YouTube.

Nepalflix is an initiative of Chaudhary Group and Bongo, the market leader in digital entertainment in Bangladesh. With a global footprint and viewership on its  OTT, VOD and Live TV platforms, Bongo works with telecom operators to bring digital video consumption to the mainstream audience.

In addition, Bongo maintains a YouTube influencer community across South Asia and boasts over 10 million subscribers on its network.

“Online influencers on YouTube reach a dedicated, niche audience that interacts with them in a profound way,” the statement quoted Karel Kuipéri, Bongo’s chief operating officer responsible for YouTube services, as saying. “We want to support that special connection by bringing value to the local creative community, audiences and advertisers alike.”

Nepalflixs’ partnership with SongsNepal marks the beginning of a collaboration often seen on YouTube. Both the companies and their respective YouTube channels will work together to release fresh contents.
