Flow of Agriculture Loan Increases by 54 Percent

May 27: The flow of agriculture loan by banks and financial institutions (BFIs) has been increasing recently. According to the statistics of Nepal Rastra Bank, the flow of agriculture loan has increased by 54 percent within a period of one year.

Nepal Rastra Bank considers loan disbursed in the field of agriculture services like crop cultivation, vegetable farming, tea farming, dairy farming, animal husbandry, fishery and slaughterhouse as agriculture loan. A total of Rs 132.7 billion was disbursed in the field as agriculture loan as of April 13, 2018. A total of Rs 86.11 billion was disbursed in the field as agriculture loan in the corresponding period of last fiscal year.

An additional amount of Rs 42.74 billion, which accounts for 47.5 percent, has been disbursed in the agriculture field.
