Buddha Air to Restart Varanasi Flights

May 28: Buddha Air has announced to restart its air connectivity with India. The airline is scheduled to restart Kathmandu-Varanasi-Kathmandu flights from late June. Authorities of Buddha Air informed that an ATR 72-212A aircraft will be flying to and fro Varanasi twice a week from the last week of June this year. The Kathamndu-Varanasi flight is expected to boost religious tourism of Nepal.

Birendra Bahadur Basnet, managing director of Buddha Air, confirmed during a press conference held at Hotel Himalaya that Buddha Air is preparing to restart commercial flights to Varanasi from June 29.

The airline is offering a complete combo of holy tour package including air tickets, tourist guides, hotels, local transportation for Varanasi and Kathmandu. The airline will offer exclusive discounts for the pilgrims.

Buddha Air had started the Kathmandu-Varanasi flight from March 1, 2012. Kathmandu and Varanasi are two crucial religious destinations for the Hindu pilgrimage and the airline with this flight operation aims to connect the pilgrims of the two nations to their destinations.

 As stated by a report, over 30 million Indian citizens leaves for holy voyage annually and Buddha Air,  analyzing this fact, is looking forward to bring as much pilgrims to Nepal as possible.

“The objective of connecting Varanasi is the route’s prospects as it is a pilgrimage site and there are also business and education opportunities,” said Buddha Air’s officials.

The airline is also preparing to introduce a user-friendly web portal which will include crucial information about the holy destinations of both the nations featuring photos, travel details and other information to ease the tourists.
