Global Shapers hand over School Building

July 8: Global Shapers Kathmandu Hub handed over a newly constructed school wing to Shree Ganesh Secondary School in Budanilkantha on Friday, July 6.

The school building was reconstructed by Global Shapers after the Gorkha earthquake as a way to make a permanent impact on the children of Budanilkantha who had been affected by the disaster. Ganesh School’s building was severely affected during the earthquake, and Global Shapers wanted to make sure that the school was rebuilt in a safe way with modern facilities for the students of this school.

Global Shapers said in a statement it raised the money for the school through donations from various institutions and individuals such as Reliance Group Nepal, MC Group, Qatar Airways, NIC Asia, and NIBL Bank. A big part of the money, USD 150,000, was raised by an online campaign.
