CAAN approves Buddha Air’s flight to New Delhi

July 8: Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has approved the schedule of Buddha Air’s Nepalgunj –New Delhi flights.  The airline informed that the aviation authority has approved the schedule and will be valid from January 1, 2019.

The airline previously had requested the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation allow it to operate three regular flights to the Indian capital from Nepalgunj. Buddha Air had requested to operate flights at 6:30 am, 1 pm and 5:10 pm.  

Buddha Air informed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs upon the request from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation had written to Indian authorities seeking approval of the air route. The airline from its side has been doing its home work for starting the flights to New Delhi.

The operation of Buddha Air’s flights to New Delhi is expected to bring positive improvement in tourism promotion of western and far western Nepal.

The airline in a statement informed that Bardiya, Shuklaphata National Park, as well as the Himalayan range, Khaptad, Swargadwari and Rara as some of the major tourism destinations that will get a boost after the flights to New Delhi come into operation.   

Similarly, the airline is working to commence direct Nepalgunj-Pokhara flight after starting Nepalgunj-Delhi flight operation.

The airline has recently added a new aircraft to  its fleet.
