OnePlus announces 2 years of software updates

July 9: Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus has announced an update on its software maintenance schedule. The update, which was announced on the OnePlus forum, says that all OnePlus phones, starting from OnePlus 3, will get 2 years of regular software updates from the release date of the phone which includes new features, Android versions, Android security and bug fixes. There will also be an additional 1 year of Android security updates every 2 months, the company said in a statement.

Dhirendra Kushwaha, marketing manager of iHub Pvt Ltd which imports the Chinese brand in Nepal, said, "Oneplus is one of the most desired smartphones among the smartphone users. The brand constantly comes with new updated technologies, features, operating systems and advancements in high speed functioning, to always satisfy and entice its customers. Alongside the OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, and the recently launched OnePlus 6, the almost two-year-old OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will also be a part of the updated software maintenance schedule and will be effective immediately."

OnePlus’ custom operating system, OxygenOS, is designed to refine stock Android’s core functionalities with features and optimizations that add value to the user experience, the statement said.
