Britannia Appoints Priyanka Karki as its Brand Ambassador on its Centenary

August 15: Britannia has appointed Priyanka Karki as its brand ambassador for its flagship brand Good Day. The food manufacturing company established in 1918 made the announcement on August 14 during a ceremony held to mark its centenary.

According to the company, the renowned celebrity will be featuring in a TV commercial where she personifies the “Smile More for a Good Day” spirit with a narrative clearly exemplifying the theme of the product - Discover your own smile, then multiply it by sharing it with the world.

The company said in a statement that the TVC beautifully narrates the story of a simple woman going about her daily life with a smile for everyone. The heart-warming background song “Muskuraunu ma kanjoosi kina”, underscores the message of “Smile More” and adds to the overall appeal of the film.

Expressing her excitement on the new campaign, Priyanka Karki said, “It’s exciting to be a part of Britannia Good Day’s journey – Smile More for a Good Day, as it upholds a philosophy I truly believe in. We Nepalese are very warm and helpful people, but do we smile often? A smile might seem like a simple act that we often take for granted. Hopefully, this campaign will remind people to embrace a smile and make it a habit. After all, a smile costs nothing!”

The company said it has strengthened its local presence by appointing Vishal Group as its distribution partner which has led to a distribution expansion by almost 30 percent of outlets over the past year to 70,000 outlets. Going forward, Britannia said it also plans to start local manufacturing.
