Moonlight wins DAV Inter-College Futsal Tournament

September 10: Moonlight Secondary School of Lalitpur won the title of the First DAV +2 (NEB) Inter-College Futsal Tournament organised by DAV College from September 6 to 8 in the capital.

According to the organsier, the competition was conducted on league cum knockout basis. In the final, there was tough competition between Moonlight School and Liverpool College as the regular time of the match ended in a draw. Moonlight School edged out Liverpool College in penalty shoot out to clinch the title.

With the victory, Moonlight School bagged a trophy, medals and Rs 100,000 as cash prize while the runner-up Liverpool College received a trophy, medals and Rs 50,000.

Avash Yonjan of Moonlight was adjudged the best player of the tournament while the titles of highest scorer and best goal keeper went to Bibidh Bista and Saurav Kutu of Liverpool College respectively. This tournament was technically supported by ANFA.

Besides the tournament, the students of DAV College also set up food stalls and Blood Group testing stall. The tournament was jointly inaugurated by Anil Kedia, the chairman of DAV College, and Guna Raj Pokhrel, head of the Education Development and Co-ordination Unit of the college.

A total of 40 colleges of Kathmandu had participated in the tournament.
