October 12: The tourism entrepreneurs  of Rolpa have started professional rafting for the first time in the district with the aim of drawing more number of tourists for adventure sports.  

Sunil Smiriti Rural Municipality in collaboration with Karnali Rafting and Adventure Pvt Ltd has started the professional rafting in Lungri River situated in Sulichaur.

Minister for Energy, Water Resource and Irrigation Barsaman Pun inaugurated the rafting amid an event on Monday, October 8.

The minister during the inauguration said that adventure sport is a major attraction for tourists in Nepal.

Rafting was introduced in the district with an investment of Rs 2 million from the public and private sectors.
