16th Handicraft Trade Fair Begins Tomorrow

November 13: The Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) is organizing the 16th Handicraft Trade Fair and 14th Craft Competition from Wednesday, November 14 with the objective of promoting Nepalese handicraft in the international market.

Issuing a press statement, FHAN said that the five-day event will be held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.

FHAN said that there will be a total of 170 stalls including 150 from domestic entrepreneurs and 20 from abroad.

The fair is being held under the theme of 'Handicraft: Prospect for Prosperity’ and will feature seminar,  B2B workshops on current issues of handicraft industry, stall, as well as live demonstration of artisans.

Dharma Raj Shakya, chairman of FHAN, said that the fair will be an attraction for the new generation to join it as a profession and business.

Coordinator of the trade fair Hemanta Shakya expects transaction up to Rs 100 million during the fair.

Metal crafts, leather, wool, pasmina, wooden and Nepali paper products and medicinal herbs will be displayed in the stalls, according to a news report published by the national news agency RSS.
