Minister Assures Support for Hetauda Cement Factory

December 13: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Yadav, has assured of government support to the state-owned Hetadua Cement Factory to make it competitive as private cement factories. 

However, Minister Yadav said that upgrading the factory depends on leaders and stakeholders, according to a news published by Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS).

The state-owned news agency said that the minister made such remarks during the inauguration of the 33rd anniversary of the factory on Wednesday, December 12.

During the occasion, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Province 3, Shalikram Jammakattel, asserted that no one would be allowed to close the factory under any pretext. 
The factory which was reeling under loss for a long time began earning profit since four years back, according to RSS. In the fiscal year 2074/75, the factory made a profit of Rs 235 million, while the profit stood at Rs 220 million the previous year. 
General manager of Hetauda Cement Factory, Prem Shankar Singh, shared that the factory expects to make profit more than Rs 350 million in the current fiscal year.
