One Million Tourists visit Nepal in 11 months

December 14: Nepal’s tourism sector is all set to create a historic record as the country saw the arrival of one million tourists in the last 11 months of the current year.

According to a news report published by Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Nepal Tourism Board has stated that 1,001,930 foreigners visited Nepal as of November 2018 since the beginning of this calendar year. It is an increase by 17 per cent as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Most of the tourists visiting Nepal are from India followed by China. Dipak Raj Joshi, executive director at Nepal Tourism Board,  said that it was historic indeed that Nepal was able to bring in one million tourists in the 11 months of this year.

“This has encouraged tourism,” he said.

Besides India and China, the USA and the UK top the list of countries contributing tourists to Nepal.
