Snowfall Affects Life in Dolakha

December 30: The high regions of Dolkha have received the first snowfall of the year.
The tourist spots like Kalinchowk, Kuribazaar, Kharidhunga, Jiribazaar, Sailungdanda, Chyordung and other parts have experienced heavy snowfall, reported Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS). As a result, the increasing cold has affected daily life in the region.
Those affected also include the earthquake survivors who are still living in temporary shelters, awaiting reconstruction of their fallen homes.
On a positive side, the snowfall has attracted a large number of domestic tourists, especially from Kathmandu valley.
“Majority of the hotels here are packed with tourists in Kalinchowk and Kuri bazaar,” RSS quoted president of Hotel Association of Dolakha, Santosh Pathak, as saying.
