January 4: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Chakrapani Khanal, has insisted on checking the smuggling and unauthorized use of pesticides.

He said so while presenting the ‘Management of Pesticides Bill, 2075’ in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, January 3.

According to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Minister Khanal said that the bill has been introduced to amend the existing laws for controlling the rampant and widespread use of pesticides.

The bill has made provision for fines ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 150,000 on those people involved in the unauthorized use of pesticides.
