January 9: Govidna Das Shrestha, chairman of Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu, passed away on Wednesday morning at Leelawati Hospital in Mumbai. He was 87. Shrestha was suffering from cancer and breathed his last while undergoing treatment.

According to family sources, his body will be brought to Kathmandu on Thursday, January 10.

Issuing a press statement, Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu said GD Shrestha served for more than four decades in the tourism sector.

His last rites will be performed at Devghat, Chitwan as per his own wish.
