NEA to Replace Old Meters in Seven Days

January 11: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) will be replacing old meters with new single-phase meters within seven days from now onwards. The NEA has pledged to replace the meter within seven days after receiving an application from the service seeker.

According to the NEA, most of the households use single phase meter.

Likewise, the NEA has said it will fix the three phase and TOD meters, which show the readings of electricity consumption in different times of a single day, in 15 days and a month respectively.

The NEA argued that this provision has been introduced to make its service effective and its employees responsible towards their duty.

Following the end of power cuts in the country, the NEA has been saying that it will take measures for institutional development as well as introduce new technologies. This includes curbing electricity theft, cutting administrative cost, providing standard and safe service among others.
