January 13: Basudev Adhikari has been appointed as the chairman of Nepal Bank Limited. Nepal Rastra Bank’s Governor Dr Chiranjivi Nepal administered oath of office and secrecy to Adhikari amid a recent function, said the bank in a statement released on January 12.

Adhikari holds MA degrees in Nepali and Public Administration from Tribhuvan University. Adhikari, who had a distinguished career at the central bank of Nepal for 30 years, retired from service last year. Adhikari takes the charge of the board of directors of the bank from Janardan Sharma Acharya, who stepped down after completion of his four-year term last month, according to the bank.
