Himalayan Hydro Expo Concludes

January 21: The second edition of Himalayan Hydro Expo has concluded in Kathmanduon Sunday, January 20. The three-day exhibition witnessed a significant number of visitors. More than 60,000 visitors attended the expo and the organisers believe that it will contribute to different dimensions of hydropower sector.

The expo jointly organised by Independent Power Producers’ Association Nepal (IPPAN) and Expo and Event Management Services Private Limited (EEMSPL) saw 12,000, 28,000 and 20,000 visitors on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The visitors were attracted towards the latest technologies and productsrelated to the hydropowersector. Similarly, the visitors were interested in robot competition, and competitive shows related to hydropower. A short visit to various hydropower plants via helicopter for visitors wasalso arranged by the organizers.

BijaySagarPradhan, CEO of EEMSPL said, “With the significant participation of individuals and organizations in both the first and second editions of the expo, it will be organized in a more refined way in the days to come.”

The exhibitors included almost all stakeholders of hydropower sector in Nepal from engineering firms, machinery manufacturers, equipment suppliers, technology service providers, contractors, banks, insurance companies, construction material suppliers, heavy machinery and vehicle brands among others.
