January 18: CG Hospitality on Thursday held the grand opening of Vivanta Kathmandu, a star hotel in the posh Jhamshikhel area. CG Hospitality, a subsidiary of CG Group, said in a statement that the newly opened hotel will be managed by the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), which owns the iconic Taj brand of hotels.
According to CG Hospitality, this is the second hotel of the company in the region with IHCL after Meghauli Serai, a Taj Safari Lodge in Chitwan National Park. Vivanta Kathmandu houses 110 rooms.
“We are very delighted to bring Vivanta in Kathmandu after nearly two decades. This hotel will set new standards in terms of quality, services and F&B through the famous TAJ Hospitality. We continue to strive for promoting quality tourism in Nepal as we have done with Meghauli Serai, ” said Rahul Chaudhary, managing director of CG Hospitality.
“With its enviable setting, urbane rooms and avant-garde restaurants, the hotel is a perfect option for short and long stays. Guests have a choice of distinctive culinary options with Akari, serving pan Asian cuisine, a rooftop bar, Koko serving bistro-style food, to the whiff of local Newari dishes at Mynt - the all-day diner,” the statement said.
