MAW Rolls Out New Skoda Octavia

February 5: MAW Enterprises, the authorized dealer of Skoda cars for Nepal, has officially started the sale of new model of Skoda Octavia in Nepal. According to the company, the new Skoda Octavia is available in three trim options – ambition, style and L & K – and eight different iterations based on engine options and transmission.

Issuing a statement on February 1, the company said that the new Skoda Octavia comes in both diesel and petrol engines.

The 1.8-litre petrol engine gives 180 bhp power and is linked to a 7-speed DSG gearbox while the smaller 1.4-litre engine connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox gives 150 bph power. The diesel engine is the tried and tested 2-litre engine that gives 143 bhp power and is connected to a 6-speed DSG gearbox.

The Octavia comes with eight airbags in the top specification version while the style and ambition version have six and four airbags respectively.

The ABS (anti-lock brakes), EBD (electronic brake distribution) and traction control come as standard feature in every model.

The petrol-powered 1.4 litre Ambition variant starts at Rs 7.1 million and the price goes up to Rs 10.2 million for the top-notch  1.8 litre L & K variant. Similarly, among the diesel models, the price for the 2.0 litre Ambition start at Rs 9.1 million and goes up to Rs 11.1 million for the top-spec 2.0 litre L & K variant.

The updated version of Octavia comes with LED daytime running lights and fog lamps on the bumper. In the rear, the tail lights have a new LED lighting pattern. Other features include a centrally-mounted 8-inch color infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Mirror link.

According to the company, the Octavia is currently in its fourth generation.

“Skoda Laura was its predecessor which was very popular among Nepalese sedan-lovers.”
