Suresh SinghSuresh Singh is the key account manager, composite business of Henkel Loctite for India. Loctite is a brand under the Henkel portfolio, renowned for its excellence in adhesives and sealants. He was recently in Nepal for the CE Construction Nepa ConXpo. Angila Sharma of the New Business Age caught up with him on the sidelines and discussed issues ranging from the expo and Henkel Loctite, among others. Excerpts:
 
What brings you to Nepal?
We represented Henkel Loctite at the CE ConXpo in Nepal. This brand is present all over the world. Our services enhance the efficiency of objects and hydropower plants. We have been providing our services in the Asia-Pacific region. So, we thought that a growing country like Nepal should also be able to enjoy the benefits of our products. Our purpose to come to Nepal is that we want to establish our presence in the Nepali market. We are not suppliers we are service providers. We want to provide services to Nepali industries.
 
How would you evaluate the Expo?
The expo was a success. A lot of people visited our stall and gathered information about our products. They showed interest in our products and we were able to inform them about the importance of our products. Overall, the expo was a hit.
 
Could you please tell us more about Henkel Loctite.
Henkel is a German brand, with global presence. We are present in 82 countries. We provide adhesives, coatings, thread sealing and thread locking, surface treatments and sealants. We also have products for coating hydropower plants. Water contains certain amount of silk in it, which damages equipment, but our world class product increases the efficiency of the equipment. Similarly, civil product includes wall coating, floor coating and structure coating, roof coating, roof ceiling.
 
What is the market share of Henkel Loctite in India?
If you bring around 25 to 30 companies together, it makes one Henkel. We have a broad range of products some of which are already present in Nepal. We have adhesive for book-binding and shoe. Henkel cannot be compared with other companies. We are the global leaders in our segment.
 
What are the strengths of your product?
We are customer driven. Our customers are in the centre and we revolve around them. We provide effective solutions to specific problems across a wide range of industrial environments. By developing ideas and concepts into real solutions, we combine resources to make advances for the benefit of everyone. The effectiveness of our products are its strength.
 
How are your products different from other products of the same segment?
Our products are reliable. It is the most important factor. We are globally recognised and approved.
 
What are your plans for Nepal?
Our main aim is to make people comfortable. In the near future, we want to establish partnership with Nepal. We want to take Nepali customers to the top. Nepali customers should give new comers a chance to make a place in the market.
