It is really encouraging sign that five former prime ministers came together in a common platform with a common vision to revolutionise the economy. As leaders of their respective parties also, their  commitment towards the economic development of the country is positive if their commitment is translated into the execution when they lead the government. These commitments have given assurance to the business community, which is at low confidence at the moment for making big investments. Hopefully the execution of this commitment would help boost their confidence. The 12 point commitment shown by the political party senior leaders cum former prime minister sounds really encouraging if they are implemented. I would like to specially thank New Business Age and Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry for creating a platform to bring them together and join hands for country’s better economic future.

It is said that the growth of audience is increasing with the increase in quality theatres and it is bound to grow with the rise in people’s living standard and purchasing power.

Federal Economy

Nepal has been declared a federal state by the interim constitution but it still remains to be implemented. Federal structure of Nepal was a hot debate during the tenure of the first Constituent Assembly and it is bound to retain in the second Constituent Assembly also. Viability of the federal states delineated on the basis of ethnicity and single-identity is still debated and discussed at the intellectual level. 

Various aspects of federalism must be discussed at the people’s level before coming to a conclusion and people must be well aware of what is being decided for them by the government or political parties at the centre. Federalism is necessary in Nepal to end all sort of social and economic disparities through scientific and equitable distribution and use of natural resources and geographical richness. It is more of a economic proposition than a political one.

Employee Retention

Employee turnover can be challenging to companies if it is too high and too frequent. Though turnover is quite natural, employee retention has its own benefits. Employees always seek better opportunities and if the present office successfully offers possibilities for growth and other opportunities, it is said that employees can be retained for a long time. However it is not the sole factor that retains employees. If working space and working environment is homely and professional at the same time, i believe one develops a sense of attachment and ownership towards the organisation which is important for both employees and the employer. It is also a responsibility of the leader or the boss to ensure such environment while creating a healthy working environment.
