Samsung Galaxy S5 in Copper Gold
IMS, the authorized distributor of Samsung mobiles in Nepal has introduced Copper Gold Galaxy S5 smartphones in the market. According to the company, the Copper Gold colour has been introduced to add more colour variant for the customers to choose from. Copper Gold gives a professional feel to the smartphone yet retaining the trendy look which is expected to appeal to the entrepreneurs and business men of all ages and classes, says the company in a statement. With this new addition, Samsung Galaxy S5 will now be available in four colours – Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold. The phone is priced at Rs 76,000.
 
Color Launches X-32 Wave
Colors Mobile has launched X-32 Wave handset in the market. X-32 Wave is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and it runs on Android 4.2. The phone comes with a 4-inch screen, and has a 5 MP primary camera and a secondary camera as well. Other features include 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM and a battery of 1400 mAh. A 120 MB Ncell data card is offered free with the phone which is priced at Rs 7,650. The company is giving a warranty of one year on handset and six months on battery and charger.   
 
Micromax Launches Canvas Knight A350
Micromax has launched its first Octa-Core Smartphone Canvas Knight A350 in the market. Canvas Knight is powered by a MediaTek 2GHz Tru Octa-Core MT6592T processor, and comes with 2 GB RAM for exceptionally fast performance, smoother transitions and a smooth interface. The smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and features a 5-inch Sharp FHD IPS display. The phone has a 16 MP rear camera paired with Omnivision’s Camerachip sensor and a M8 Largan lens that can record videos with a resolution of 1920*1080 at a speed of 30 frames per second. The rear camera also has voice command capabilities. Other features of the phone include 32 GB internal storage, 2350 mAh battery, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi support and various gesture controls. 
 
BQ Smartphones in Market
Horizon Enterprises has launched BQ smartphones and bar phones in the market.  The company has launched two smartphones - BQ S60 and BQ S37 and seven bar phones -- K22, K12, K15, K26, K29, K60 and K50.  The company has claimed BQ S37 to be the most affordable smartphone in the market. . The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual core processor and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It comes with a 3.5 inch touch screen and rear and front camera. The phone is priced at Rs 6,999. Similarly, BQ S60 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2 Ghz quad core processor. It has a 5-inch touch screen, and comes with 1 GB Ram and 4 GB internal storage. The phone is powered by a 2,200 mAh battery. 
 
Microsoft: No Need for Laptop with Its New Tablet
Microsoft bills its new Surface tablet computer as a laptop replacement — and it means it this time. The Surface Pro 3 will have a screen measuring 12 inches diagonally, up from 10.6 inches in the previous model. The Pro 3 is 32 percent thinner and 12 percent lighter than October's Pro 2. The company said it customized more than 100 parts and worked closely with chipmaker Intel Corp. to maximize performance in a slim device.
 
Microsoft had also billed the Surface Pro 2 as a laptop replacement, but Surface executive Ben Reed said technological advances and customer feedback over the past several months led to the device unveiled on 20th May. The Surface Pro 3 will go on sale this summer, in five configurations ranging from $799 to $1,949. Older models will still be available. The starting price of the Pro 2 is $100 more, at $899, but it has a faster processor than the Pro 3's starting model.A keyboard cover to make the tablet feel like a laptop costs $130 more. (Agency)
 
Google Tops Apple to Become World’s Most Valuable Brand
Google has passed Apple in the brand stakes for the first time with technology dominating the world’s top ten most valuable brands, including a strong 12 months for Microsoft. Research from Millward Brown shows that Google’s brand value grew by 40 per cent from 2013 to 2014 as it moved from second to first place with a valuation of $159 billion ahead of its competitor Apple, which saw its value drop 20 per cent to $148 billion.
 
IBM remained at the third place on the list but dropped back four per cent to $107 billion whereas Microsoft rose three places after seeing its value rocket 29 per cent and finish up on $90 billion. The results are part of Millward Brown’s Brandz index that ranks the world’s most valuable brands based on brand value. (Agency)
