Hisense Exclusive Showroom at Durbar Marg
Navin Distributors Pvt Ltd, the sole authorized distributer for Hisense products in Nepal opened its exclusive Hisense showroom at Sherpa Mall, Durbarmarg.  According to the company, Hisense has complete range of products including Smart TV, 3D TVs, LED, LCD, Refrigerators, Chest Freezers, Air Conditioners, Wine Chiller, Mobile Phones, and Washing Machine. The new showroom will have on display televisions, refrigerators, AC's and washing machines, and vacuum cleaners and other products will be added soon.  
 
Samsung’s Smart Refrigerators in the Market
Samsung has launched a new series of smart refrigerators in the market. According to the company, the refrigerators have very low power consumption, and are useful at the times of load shedding. Also, the digital inverter compressor used in the range helps maintain a more consistent temperature, reduces wear and tear on the compressor for greater durability, and keeps noise to a minimum, claims the company.  The price of the refrigerators range from Rs 82,990 to Rs 212,990. 
 
Wireless Portable Speakers at Evostore
EvoStore, the authorized distributor of Harman International in Nepal has launched the range of JBL and Harman Kardon Wireless Portable speakers and headphones. The launched models are JBL Micro Wireless ultra-portable speaker, JBl Flip 2 wireless portable speaker, JBL Charge stereo speaker, JBL Voyager wireless home audio system, Harman Kardon’s Onyx and Aura. 
 
Skoda’s Surprising Exchange 
MAW Enterprises, the sole authorized distributor of Skoda automobiles in Nepal organized 'Skoda Surprising Exchange' from 4th May to 7th May 2014 at Skoda showroom, Thapathali. During the event, customers were able to exchange old car of any brand with a new Skoda car along with attractive offers. Spot exchange, finance and delivery facility was offered along with good valuation of the used cars. The event specially focused on Skoda Rapid, 1600 cc luxury sedan car. 
 
Star Lubricants in Market
Purbanchal Lube Oil Pvt Ltd has introduced Star Lubricants in the market. According to the company, the lubricants are manufactured using latest technology, and are appropriate for use in motorcycles, cars and heavy vehicles. The introduced lubricants are MP Lake 3 White, High Duty 3 and Satkar grease among others. Similarly, the engine oils launched in the market are Silver 40, Diamond 15 W 40 and Star Gold 20 W 50 among others. The company will distribute the lubricants and engine oils through 30 dealers and more than 2,000 retailers throughout the country.  Meanwhile, the company has also taken its dealers for a weeklong trip to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.  
 
Jameson Whiskey's First Tasting Sessions
Jameson Irish Whiskey hosted its first tasting sessions in Nepal. Mathieu Bertin, Brand Ambassador of Jameson India hosted a special 4-city whiskey tasting session.  Bertin conducted 15 tasting sessions with Food and Beverage staff of 60 hotels and restaurants including Factory, Bourbon Room, Capital Grill and Paradise Restaurant in Kathmandu, Butwal, Pokhara and Biratnagar. The tasting sessions were conducted from 5th to 11th May. As a part of their on-going tasting and brand introduction session across India, Mathieu briefed the consumers and trade officials across Nepal about the history and tradition of Irish whiskey making and the success of the Jameson brand. The objective of the tasting session was to build brand preference by conducting a comparative tasting with leading American and Scotch counterparts. Jameson is known for its smooth taste which makes it the best-selling Irish whiskey world over. 
 
Dabur’s Herbal Gel Toothpaste
Dabur Nepal has launched Dabur Herbal Gel Toothpaste with blend of mint, lemon and other herbs. The toothpaste is claimed to give white teeth and natural fresh breath. “Dabur has been on the forefront of developing herbal and natural products relevant for today's consumers. Dabur Herbal Gel Toothpaste is probably Nepal’s first herbal gel toothpaste exclusively developed to cater to the needs Nepali consumers,” said Dabur Nepal’s Head of Marketing Abhaya Pd Gorkhalee. The toothpaste is endorsed by actress Priyanka Karki. The toothpaste is available in 40 gm, 80 gm and 150 gm packs at Rs 22, 38 and 70 respectively.
 
Videocon Retailer Meet Organized 
Vatsal Impex Pvt Ltd, the sole authorized distributors of Videocon mobiles for Nepal organized Videocon Retailer Meet in Kathmandu. The event had the participation of Videocon retailers from Kathmandu and other districts. According to the company, the Meet was organized to strengthen the relation with the retailers.  The Meet also had presentations on features of Videocon mobile, software used and after sales service. The company has been distributing various models of Videocon mobile phones and tablets in the market. 
 
Ford’s ‘Figo What a Deal’ Offer
Ford has launched ‘Figo What a Deal’ offer that gives every Figo customer a chance to win a KTM Duke Bike worth Rs 400,000. The winner will be selected and declared immediately upon the roll of a dice. Each customer will get the chance of rolling the dice and will have a chance of winning a KTM Duke and other gifts. A total of six gifts are selected and a number on the dice is assigned to each gift. The gifts include Samsung S5, Samsung 40” Full HD LED TV, Ktm Duke bike, Samsung double door refrigerator, Dell Oak Value touchscreen laptop and Samsung front loading washing machine and microwave oven. Nimbus to Open 200 Agri-input Centres
Nimbus is planning to open a chain of 200 specialized agri-input centres titled ‘Nimbus Krishi Kendra’ around the country in the next two years. According to the company, this is a step forward to leverage the existing Nimbus distribution network of 600 dealers and sub-dealers around Nepal. The first centre is scheduled to open within a month in Kalimati, Kathmandu followed by Narayanghat and Birgunj. The chain would be a combination of company owned stores and franchised stores. The products would range from seeds, crop protection, fertilizers, plant nutrients, and veterinary medicines, feed supplements, feed for various commercial livestock, agricultural equipment, machineries and tools. The idea behind this is to assist the farmers in increasing the yields and to provide transparent and easy market access. These stores will also act as the direct linkage between the producers and processors/ retailers.
 
Ncell Introduces Google Nexus 5
Ncell has introducing Google Nexus 5 exclusively for its corporate customers. Google Nexus 5 is a handset from Google developed by LG, and is yet to hit the Nepali market. Ncell’s corporate customers are now able to own it exclusively under 24-month corporate subscription contract, paying Rs 4,388 every month. Under the contract, the customers would get Pro Premium plan worth Rs 999 and 10 GB data priced Rs 2,999 (excluding taxes) every month for 24 months, along with Nexus5. The handset runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and has a 4.9 inch HD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad core processor and comes with 2 GB RAM. It has internal storage of 16 GB and comes with a battery of 2300 mAh. 
 
Johnny Walker Red Label's Flagship Outlets
Johnnie Walker Red Label has launched its first two flagship outlets in Nepal, and has also introduced Red Label in a new package. The two outlets are in Cafereena and in Siddhartha Foodland in Kathmandu. Both located in Kathmandu.  Both outlets are claimed to provide excellent service and will offer Red Label signature serves like Johnnie and Soda. The new bottle of Red Label retains the brand’s distinctive label and square shape but is taller and wider, with sharper edges for a stronger masculine finish. The new Red Label will be available at a retail price of Rs 3,275 for 1 litre.   
 
Hyundai Showroom at Bhatbhateni
Laxmi InterContinental Pvt Ltd, the sole distributor of Hyundai vehicles for Nepal has opened its new showroom at Bhatbhateni, Kathmandu. The showroom was jointly inaugurated by Ambassador of South Korea to Nepal Choe Yong-Jin and Chairman of Laxmi InterContinental Ganesh Bdr Shrestha. According to the company, the showroom has been constructed in accordance with the global Hyundai Motors standard and covers an area of 2700 sq ft. The showroom can accommodate 5-6 different vehicle models at a time and has dedicated customer lounge, consulting rooms and well-trained sales consultants. 
 
VG Suzuki’s Exchange Offer
VG Automobiles, the authorized importer and distributor of Suzuki motorcycle and scooters launched a scheme titled ‘VG Suzuki Exchange’ that ended on 27th May. Under the scheme, old motorcycle sand scooters of any brand were exchanged with new Suzuki motorcycles and scooters. The scheme also offered an instant cash discount of Rs 8,000 up to Rs 100,000.
