Machhapuchchhre Bank’s ATM in Chabahil
Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited has opened its new ATM at Chabahil. With this, the Bank now has 54 branches, one extension counter, one limited banking counter and 66 ATMs.  
 
Apex and F1Soft Ink Agreement
Apex Development Bank Ltd has signed an agreement with F1Soft International Pvt Ltd to provide Mobile Banking services to its customers. CEO of Apex Development Bank Ltd Gobind Prasad Upadhyaya and Director of Sales and Marketing of F1Soft Bipul Dhakal signed the agreement. With the introduction of this technology, customers of Apex Development Bank can use their mobile phones to avail banking services like balance enquiry, transaction alerts, notification and fund transfers. Customers will also be able to purchase recharge cards, topup and make bill payments for Nepal Telecom, Ncell, Broadlink, Dish Home and Credit Cards services.
 
 
NMB Bank’s Branch in Maharajgunj
NMB Bank Limited has opened a new branch in Maharajgunj, Chakrapath. The branch was inaugurated by Chairman of the Bank Nanda Kishore Rathi. With this branch, the total number of the branches of the Bank has now reached 28. The new branch offers all the banking services along with NMB Bank Sulav Remit, and it also has an ATM in its premises.
 
Nabil Bank Introduces ‘Nabil Smart Cards’ 
Nabil Bank Limited has upgraded its Debit Card System to ‘Smart Chip’ based on EMV technology from 1st June 2014. According to a statement from the Bank, the new Nabil Smart will replace the current magnetic stripe mode of data storage by chip mode which strengthens the payment transaction with enhanced security features. CEO of the Bank Anil Gyawali said that the Bank will soon upgrade its credit card products to this new technology and has already started replacing the entire current magnetic cards in circulation with the new Nabil Smart Cards.
 
Citizens Bank Installs ATM in Jumla
Citizens Bank International Ltd has started providing ATM services in Karnali zone through its Jumla branch. According to a press statement from the Bank, it is the first bank to introduce ATM service in Karnali, and will greatly benefit the locals of the area and the tourists visiting Karnali. With this, the Bank now has 40 branches, 38 ATM counters and 50 branchless banking units. 
 
Civil Bank’s Branches at Swayambhu and Kapan
Civil Bank Limited has opened its branches in Swayambhu and Kapan. Both the branches were inaugurated by Chairman of the Bank Ichchha Raj Tamang. CEO of the Bank Kishore Maharjan said that the need for banking services in these areas were felt due to the growth in business resulting from rapid urbanization surrounding the areas of both these branches. According to the Bank, the new branches will provide all the modern banking services.  
 
Bank of Kathmandu Inks Merger Agreement  
Bank of Kathmandu Ltd and three financial institutions namely International Leasing and Finance Co Ltd, Shree Investment and Finance Co Ltd, and Nepal Express Finance Ltd have reached an understanding to merge. A memorandum of understanding was signed by the Chairpersons of respective institutions. Satya Narayan Manandhar of Bank of Kathmandu Ltd, Anjay Bahadur Shah of International Leasing and Finance Co Ltd, Rabindra Raj Pandey of Shree Investment and Finance Ltd and Santosh Narayan Shrestha of Nepal Express Finance Co Ltd inked the agreement.  As per the understanding, the three ‘C’ Class finance companies will be merged with ‘A’ Class commercial bank Bank of Kathmandu Ltd and operate with the name of ‘Bank of Kathmandu Ltd’ after completion of the merger process. 
 
Sanima Bank’s CSR
The Chuchhepati branch of Sanima Bank conducted a blood donation programme in a joint participation with Lion’s Club at Bhagwansthan, Chabahil on the occasion of the Bank’s 10thyear of operation. The program saw the participation of Bank staffs, customers and locals. More than 64 donors attended the event. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility, Sanima Bank has been conducting various activities from its various branches as well to mark its 10th year of operation. In the current fiscal year, Sanima has approved Rs 6.3 million for CSR activities.
