Getting a DC Degree
Nepal graduating from the status of least developed country to a developing country is not going to be an easy task. The debate on the graduation is divided between two factions – one that believes that Nepal will successfully graduate and the other that believes all these talks as nothing but bluff.

As presented by the cover story of New Business Age in its August 2014 issue, a number of opportunities will be created when the country moves up along the growth ladder to cross the threshold and enter into the area of being a developing country. The growth process and actually being there will also bring opportunities for the public, the private sector and the economy at large. These opportunities should be able to further propel the multi-dimensional development of the country.

However, we should not also forget what we will be missing if we hardly graduate and could not move sustainably up the growth ladder. If the country hardly graduates into the status of developing country and falls into the middle-income trap, it would also bring a number of disadvantages to the country and the economy. Available benefits and facilities for an LDC in the international market will be lost and if we fail to compete with the large international players, we will lose what we have while trying to gain something.

Inspiring story
It is very inspiring to read about the real estate veteran, Om Rajbhandary, on March 2014 issue of  New Business Age. He exemplifies that one can scale any height if s/he is really dedicated in his/her work. I feel proud to be associated with the same company i.e. Winthrob (now Win Medicare) where Mr Rajbhandary had worked for eight years.

Reluctant to FDI
From the New Business Age’s July 2014 issue’s cover story it is easy to conclude that Nepali government is reluctant to allow outbound FDI. There are still some issues of money laundering. To curb those issues, Nepali government has frequently launched programmes such as voluntary declaration of income source.

Sasto Deal
Sasto Deal has indeed made shopping easier and lighter. However, it would be much helpful if they updated their website regularly. The web-based company is doing a splendid job and has become a motivating element for youths of today. The owners of the company are not only involved in this web-based company but are also actively involved in other projects. Sasto Deal, as a company, can reach heights because of their excellent customer service and relatively cheaper rates. Although online business is a relatively new term in this part of the world, this company has been able to establish itself as a brand. As a customer, I would like to congratulate them for their brilliant work.

Domestic Tourism
The ‘Domestic Tourism Growing’ article in the August 2014 issue of the New Business Age was an interesting story to read. It is good to see that domestic tourism in Nepal is increasing. Nepali is a country, which is bestowed with natural beauty and rich culture. Many international tourists come to Nepal to see what we have but we Nepalis are still far behind in exploring our own beauty. Instead of planning our vacation overseas, we must explore the destinations within our country. This will help to boost the Nepali tourism industry. There are plenty of adventure tourism options, which Nepal has to offer for the tourists like jungle walking, mountain biking, trekking, rafting and so on. Likewise, there are many destinations in Nepal where people can go for family vacations and enjoy the scenic beauty far away from the crowd.

I love to explore different places of Nepal and go on long vacations regularly and would like to suggest your readers to go to different places of Nepal as this will help in the growth of tourism in Nepal.
