July 7: Muktinath Bikas Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Khalti Digital Wallet to facilitate digital payments to its customers.
Issuing a press statement, Khalti said that Til Bahadur Gurung, chief operating officer of Muktinath Bikas Bank, and Dhruba Adhikari, director of Khalti, signed the agreement amid a function in the capital on Sunday, July 7.
“The partnership will enable Muktinath Bikas Bank customers to load their Khalti accounts through mobile and internet banking service,” as per the statement.
Speaking at the function, Muktinath Bikas Bank’s COO and Til Bahadur Gurung said that the tie-up with Khalti can make everyday payments from their smartphone using Khalti.
Likewise, Khalti’s Director Dhruba Adhikari said Muktinath Bikas Bank users need not withdraw cash to pay for goods and services. “They can simply pay via Khalti. The initiative would help consumers go cashless in payments and facilitate hassle-free transactions,” he added.
Khalti provides various utility bill payment services, mobile recharge, DTH recharge, domestic flight booking, movie ticketing, event ticketing, hotel booking, newspaper subscriptions, payments at online shopping sites, and insurance premium payments among various other digital payments services.
