Himalayan Bank Provides Financial Assistance to Teach for Nepal

July 19: Himalayan Bank Limited has provided financial assistance of Rs 500,000 to Teach For Nepal to ensure quality education to the students of various community schools.

The bank said in a statement that it supported the organization under its corporate social responsibility.

Teach For Nepal is an NGO working to uplift the educational standard various community schools. With its vision “One Day All Children In Nepal Will Attain An Excellent Education”, Teach for Nepal said it has provided quality education to over 30000 students of 67 schools of various six districts by providing 270 volunteer teachers since its establishment.

Ashoke SJB Rana, CEO of Himalayan Bank Limited, handed over the amount to Shisir Khanal, CEO  and co-founder of Teach For Nepal, amid a function in the capital.

Himalayan Bank said it has been helping the community especially the orphanages as well as old age and in the fields of education and health. It has also been taking initiative in conservation of cultural heritages and supporting victims of natural calamities along with sponsoring various awareness programs.

At present, the bank has 59 branches, 121 ATMs, more than 2600 card merchants and above 13500 remittance payment counters spread throughout the country.
