August 9: Om Development Bank has announced to distribute ‘Smart Yatra Card’ for public transport service in Pokhara. Pokhara Metropolitan City has decided to implement e-ticketing for travelling on public vehicles within the metropolis from August 18. For this, the smart travel card is being issued, said the bank’s CEO Bishwo Mohan Adhikari.
The bank is planning to issue to the cards to the students in the first phase and gradually start to distribute it to the entire wards of Pokhara.
The bank in the first phase will install terminals in around 800 vehicles run in the metropolitan city and it will issue 300,000 smart cards within four years, said Adhikari. He further shared that the bank has already signed an agreement with Pokhara Metropolitan City, NCloud Pvt Ltd and Pokhara Bus Transportation Committee in this regard.
