Arrival of Tourists up in Ghodepani

October 4: Ghodepani, a renowned tourist destination in Mygagdi along the Annapurna Circuit, has seen an increase in influx of tourists. Hotel entrepreneurs in the area, which offers spectacular view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain ranges, say that the number of both domestic and internal tourists is up this season.

Ghodepani’s police in-charge Sarwajit Gurung confirmed that the number of tourists has increased in the area. He informed that the hotels are packed with tourists.

“Around 350 tourists have been arriving here in the recent days,” said Gurung, adding that the tourists spend two to three days in the area visiting the nearby Poon Hill and other sites.

Ghorepani, which is situated at an altitude of 3210 metres above the sea level, is basically a village dominated by the Magar community while the area is rich in culture and bio-diversity. It is famed for rhododendron forests and also is a home to various species of fauna.

This place offers magnificent view of Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre peaks  as well as sunrise.
