Dashain Concludes

October 13: Dashain, the biggest festival of Nepal, concluded on Sunday, the last day of the 15-day festival. The festival runs from the new moon day of the month of Ashwin till the full moon day, according to the lunar calendar until the full moon day. The last day of the festival is known as Kojagrat Purnima.

The last day of the festival is dedicated to Goddess Laxmi, who is considered the goddess of wealth and prosperity. There is a tradition of staying awake whole night by worshipping Goddess Laxmi on this day.

Goddess Laxmi is one of the three forms of Goddess Durga, the main deity worshipped during Dashain.
