October 20: Chief Minister of Province 5, Shanker Pokharel, in his recent visit to Chinese, reportedly requested the Sichuan government to help in the arrangement of direct flights from China’s Chengdu to Bhairahawa, Nepal.

Pokharel said that Chengdu-Bhairahawa direct flights would benefit the Chinese tourists wishing to visit Lumbini.

The chief minister revealed the government’s plan to establish a consulate in Chengdu.

Chief Minister Pokharel also invited the representatives of China to visit the birth place of Buddha, Lumbini.
